Carla and Shayne are married!

I had the privilege of capturing this beautiful couple. They went through a lot to get married - the day of the planned wedding day the bride was in the hospital having emergency surgery! But love prevailed, she recovered and they married soon after. Since their original wedding plans flew out the window, they didn't have a chance to capture the day in photos. So when they came to visit her sister on their adjusted honeymoon, we spent some time at Bella Collina in Montverde together. You can really tell how much they love each other!

Home again

Our first full day back home. The first time my husband slept in his bed in more than a month. The first time he saw our cats in a long time.

It feels good, but it doesn't. It feels wrong for feeling good.

The grief is strong, real and ever present.

Grief and Family

Another day full of plans and grief. The funeral was arranged, the paper work done, the clothes chosen. We shared a meal with all the family that was in town. We cried together and we did laugh together - Joan gave us plenty to laugh about.

Memories I want to keep from the day:

Libby walking in and saying "teeth"

Watching the pride that Libby had when her coworkers met sweet Emily for the first time

Casket Bling

Jack being the chillest kid ever

Matt and Linda laughing over family pictures

Family time 170/365

We arrived early early this morning in Miami. Matt's mom is in the hospital so we spent some time with her in the afternoon and then went over to his sister's place for a family and friends BBQ.

While it's stressful to have someone you love in the hospital - Matt's family is a ton of fun. We can't help but laugh when we get together. Now we have yet another great reason to celebrate - newborn baby Emily!

How cute is she?
