327/365
It was a low key day. We hung out around the house, I did yard work and cleaned a lot. It's tough work getting ready for family to visit. The only time I had for a picture today was dinner and dessert!

315/365 Scholarship Signing
Today four of our students at Montverde signed scholarships for college. We are so proud of them!
Here's a great article about them. http://www.orlandosentinel.com/sports/os-chris-harry-prospector-1112-20091111,0,6446624.story
From the above article:
•James Bell, a 6-foot-5, 215-pound guard from Jacksonville, signed with Villanova. The No. 43-rated player in the nation byESPN has the athleticism and skills set to contribute immediately for the Wildcats, who are coming off a Final Four season.•Jamil Jones, a forward with a Bell-like body (6-6, 210), signed with Marquette. Jones, No. 61 by ESPN, is from just outside Atlanta. He's got strong want-to and the ability to do a little bit of everything, including shoot the three.•Papa Samba Ndao goes 6-9 and 220 pounds, and represented his native Senegal in the Nike Global Challenge. He's headed to Boston College.•Last but certainly not least is 7-foot, 245-pound center Ugo Okam, from Nigeria. He isn't going to a big-time college program. Too bad. He's just going to Harvard.

311/365 Montverde Day
Today was the annual Montverde Day. A day long celebration in the small town of Montverde complete with fair food, a children's midway run by the Girl Scouts, arts and crafts and live entertainment.
Montverde Academy was of course, very active. Trish O'Donnell (the art teacher) and her students sold items they created to raise funds. Check out these cool bottles! They have been flattened and etched by her students.

Trish is an amazing teacher and her students truly love her.

Our students performed too! The Upper School band and choir each had their moment in the sun.
The Lower School students also performed with a special Middle School quartet.
What truly impressed me was how many of our students came out to support their friends. On a Saturday, when they could be doing whatever they want, they made the choice to show their support. I love the family they have created for themselves.
It was really a great day!
