75/365 Owen and his new friend

We have a neighborhood cat who comes to visit us nearly every day. He's very sweet and lovable, but not fixed. He really just wants ear rubs and love - so I got out to visit him. Unfortunately our indoor cats don't know what to make of his existence.

I have named him Clementine - or Clem for short.

Owen the Wonder Cat really is not sure what to do with Clem.

Owen stays on alert though - even though they will never really meet.

73/365 It's a girl!!!!!!!!!

Our niece - Libby - is pregnant with her first child. It's a girl and they plan to name her Emily. This will be my MIL's first great grandchild and Grandma's first great great grandchild. Very exciting!

We threw a baby shower for her at my parents house in Miami. It's was a lot of fun and great to see all the new family. Uncle Tony (Matt's uncle) and his daughter Sherri flew in from Chicago and Matt's sister Linda and her son Jack flew in from Jersey. So it really was a mini family reunion.

We had great food and snacks

We had an actual CakeWreck happen. Libby has really been craving ice cream cake lately, so it was important to have one. She ordered one ice cream cake from Dairy Queen and one regular cake from Publix. The decoration instructions for both were simple. She named her colors and told them white icing with polka dots.

Publix got it right:

Dairy Queen misunderstood. I don't have an actual picture of the before cake, but when Libby went to pick it up - it had the large plastic dog figurines all over it. The only thing we can figure out is that they thought she said "Polka dancing dogs"?????

They took the dogs off and tried to repair it - not too bad. It was delicious anyways :)
