Engaged!!!!!! 119/365

Trent and Sarah are a fantastic couple! They are fun, energetic and up for anything. Just about anything I suggested they went for and we had a blast! I'm looking forward to their wedding - it will be gorgeous!

118/365 Opening night of Annie

Tonight was the opening night of Annie and the boarding student performance. They LOVED it - especially the faculty scene - Hooverville.

Here's a video of the fun!

117/365 Garden update

My little garden is really taking off!

Here's a view of the square foot garden. Front row is peppers. Middle row is tomatoes, back row is cucumbers.

Squash plants I'm growing in containers

Side view - front two are melons, back two are peas

Nearly ripe tomatoes!

116/365 Annie Rehearsal

A few pictures of the gorgeous orchid and brommies growing in the oak tree at my parents house.

Montverde Academy is getting ready for the spring play. This year it is Annie - a combined effort featuring the Lower School, Middle School and Upper School students. All under the watchful eye of the great Adrian Ahern!!!

The Hooverville scene features some of our talented faculty and staff. They are having a great time and will wow the crowds.

They very talented Pendergast family might just steal the show though!

Ms. Hannigan might be getting a little too into her role however.

115/365 Renovating David's house

My brother bought his first house. The couple he purchased it from lived there for more than 30 years. They loved the house, but were unable to fix it up towards the end. He's been working really hard to fix it up.

One of the the oddities about it was that every room was carpeted. EVERY room. Including the bathrooms and kitchen!

Here's David pulling up the carpet in the kitchen.

Imagine our surprise when we found that underneath that carpet was another carpet!!!!!!! So he yanked that one up too.

Underneath that are two layers of linoleum - one on top of the other. Those will wait for another day.

Fortunately  underneath the carpet in two of the bedrooms is terrazzo. We pulled up a little big and it is simply gorgeous!

He's also fortunate to have wood cabinets in the kitchen. The hardware may need updating, but the wood has potential. Here are some paint samples.

Our other goal for the day was checking out some paint samples.

Here's my mom putting some on.

David picked out five that he liked. We painted them in the living room and one of the bedrooms that will become the office.
